This grow pack contains three giant Elephant garlic bulbs and 3 early white softneck bulbs. These varieties do well in southern zones.

Elephant Garlic or Allium ampeloprasum is actually related to the leek and not true garlic. It's flavor, however, is like garlic but more light and mild.

Softneck garlic varieties or Allium sativum grow best in milder climates (zones 8-12). They do not require cold exposure to make bulbs like hardnecks do and they mature more quickly. Softneck varieties also store better than hardneck.

All garlic sold by Big Elk Garlic Farm is a perishable food item that is naturally dried using only sunlight and air. It needs to be stored properly until use in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
